Keith Andrew Leonard, age 39, of Stanhope-Kelloggsville Road, died unexpectedly Monday, May 26, 2008, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born March 10, 1969, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the son of Harvey “Bud” and Sandra (Tennant) Leonard and had been a lifelong area resident. He attended Ashtabula High School and graduated from the ACJVS Carpentry program in 1988. Keith worked as a carpenter by trade and loved all outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing and camping. He caught his first turkey this spring. He enjoyed Rock-N-Roll music and was usually seen wearing a hat from his large collection.
His survivors include his longtime friend and wife, Malissa (Welker), whom he had just married April 13, 2008; his daughter, Rebecca Leonard of Ashtabula; four step-children, Jonathan (Liz) Welker of North Carolina, Bo (Amanda) Welker of Columbus and twins, Megan Hipps of Ashtabula and Mandy Hipps of Michigan; one granddaughter, Bethany and another one “Emily” on the way; one sister, Tracy Arcaro of Ashtabula and her children, Patrick Evans and Joe Arcaro; his mother, Sandra Leonard of Ashtabula; his father and step-mother, Bud and Mary Leonard of Eastlake; and his paternal grandmother, Anna Leonard of Florida. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harvey “Bud” Leonard Sr. and Thomas and Genevieve Tennant.
Calling Hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, May 30, 2008, at the ZABACK-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 8 p.m. with Michael J. Felice officiating.Contributions may be made to the family.www.ducro.com.
